Bio

Adam Black enters his 4th season as Moorpark's women's volleyball and beach volleyball head coach. Black has been at the helm of Harvard-Westlake's volleyball program since 2007, holding responsibility for the boys and girls indoor and beach programs.

He has a list of impressive credentials. In 2007 he won the CIF Division 1A Championship and CIF Division III State Title in the girl's program and appeared in the Finals again in 2013. He has experience starting up beach volleyball, which he did in 2012. Adam is also a head coach with the Los Angeles Volleyball Academy.

Adam’s experiences include a year as the men’s volleyball assistant at Pepperdine University, and prior to that, coached at L.A. Pierce College for 2 years. Black is replacing the legendary Steve Burkhart, who retired after 24 years of coaching men and women’s volleyball at Moorpark.

Numerous volleyball players have earned NCAA Division I scholarships under Black.

Black resides in Simi Valley with his wife of 15 years, Crystal, and their two sons Jacob, age 9, and Caleb, 5.
