Men's and Women's Track & Field post more great results at the RCC Open

RIVERSIDE, CA - The Men's and Women's Track teams competed at the RCC Open hosted by Riverside City College. The Raiders competed against community college, unattached, and 4 year athletes and they did not disappoint.

Starting the day off for the Raiders were the javelin throwers. Sophomore, Cole Jarvis, threw the javelin 142'11, improving his personal best by 5 1/2 feet and placing 3rd overall.   Another big improvement came from Sophomore, Aiden Bermudez who broke the 100 foot barrier with his throw of 109'5", a 10 foot improvement! Continuing with the throws, freshman, Kade Larson threw 148' 1" for a 6'2" PR in the hammer. The throw placed him 6th overall. Ian Burr also had a big 9 foot PR in the hammer with his throw of 118'1.  Ben Nathanson (122'0") and Angel Ortega (85'3") also had season PRs in the hammer throw. K.C. Lewis (34'3") and Alex Rivera (30'8 ½") had a 3/4"  improvement in the shot put. Raider distance runners continue to make big improvements. Freshman,Jonathan Castro doubled in the 1500 and 800. His 1 second PR in the 1500 (4:17) placed him 18th out of 52 finishers and his 2:07 800 placed him 11th. Sophomore, Hazael Delgado also doubled in the 1500m and 800m and had a 1.5 second improvement in the 1500 (4:52) and a ½ second PR in the 800 (2:27). Sprinters Seth Mack and Curtis Somerville opened up their 400m season.  Mack's time places him in the top 10 in conference.   Alex Gonzalez improved his 100m time by .10 (11.88). Jumper, Cytres Vives, won the high jump by jumping 6'6 ¾".  Long jumpers Desmond Winbush (20'3.5") and Aiden Bermudez (17'8.25") jumped season bests. 

 Women's Highlights: Jaelyn Lee, conference leader in the discus, hit the A standard with her PR throw of 126'7"!

Teammate, Maddie Reeder, 2nd in conference also had a PR throw (110'2"). Nelly Jamneshan also threw 80'2" for a season best. Distance runner Geidenn Gonzales had big PRs in the 1500 and 800 meter races!  Gonzales shaved 13 seconds from her 1500m time (5:41) and 8 seconds from her 800m time (2:49).  Ada Muzoglu had a 9 second PR in the 800 (3:30)! Freshman, Kailani Chisholm, opened up her 200m season with a lifetime best of 26.76! Ava Ball shaved another .1 seconds from her 400m Hurdle time to finish 3rd overall.
