#2 seed Women's Basketball defeats Hancock, 75-52, to advance to 5th straight CCCAA SoCal Regional Final

MOORPARK, CA - For the 5th straight year, the #2 seed Women's Basketball team have advanced to the CCCAA Southern Cal Regional finals defeating conference foe Hancock, 75-52. By advancing, the Raiders will now host another conference foe, the West County Pirates, Saturday, 3/9 at 7p with the winner advancing to the CCCAA CA State Tournament. It will be the 4th meeting of the year between the Raiders and Pirates and although unavoidable, this will be the first meeting in both team's CCCAA play-off history where a state berth is at stake.
Playing a team for 3rd time is tough enough but beating 3 times is even harder but the Raiders were up to the task. The Raiders raced out to a 8-0 lead and and ended on a 10-6 run to end the first. The Raiders extended their lead to 26-6 in the 5:35 mark of the second quarter. Hancock wasn't going away just yet. The Bulldogs cut away at the lead with a 11-7 run to end the first half but the Raiders still led 33-17.
The second half started with a Rebecca Saidoff three and the the Raiders never looked back the rest of the half.
The WSC North POY Rebecca Saidoff led the Raiders with a game high 24 points. The WSC North Sixth POY Keilani Peralta had 17 points. The Defensive POY Rome Falcocchia had 10 points with 9 rebounds. All- WSC First Teamer Success Prysock had 10 points with 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Raiders are now 26-3 on the year.
