#3 Women's Basketball 6-0 in WSC North after defeating Oxnard and Cuesta

The #3 Women's Basketball continued their tear through the WSC North conference taking out Oxnard, 101-51 and Cuesta two days later, 73-27. With the two wins, the Raiders are 6-0 after the first round of conference play.

Traveling 23 miles northwest to Oxnard and playing their second road game in a row, the road weary Raiders were slow out of the gate as the Condors took an early 2-1 lead. All of a sudden the light switched on and the Raiders went on a 22-3 run to take a 1st quarter 23-5 point lead. The offensive barrage and the defensive clamp down continued in the second as the Raiders took a 53-14 lead into the locker room.

Rebecca Saidof had a game high and led 5 Raiders in double figures with 27 points. Calista Argaza scored 11 points. The Raider's bench players Keilani Peralta, scored 16 points, Makenna Melito, added 13 points, and Angelina Santana, chipped in 12 points.

Playing their first home game in 10 days, the Raiders came out slow and adjusted to the Cougar game plan. Once the Raiders made their adjustments, they went on a 10-2 run to end the first quarter leading 16-8. The Cougars were able to cut the Moorpark lead to 6 but never got any closer after that. The Raiders took a 30-17 lead into halftime.

Using a combination of Cougar missed 3s and running the floor, the Raiders went on a 23-4 and never looked back. When the dust settled, the Raiders had a 73-27 win.

Rebecca Saidof led all scorers with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Success Prysock added 8 points with 9 rebounds. Keilani Peralta added 13 points. Jamilyn Carton added 9 points.

The Raiders are now 18-3 overall, 6-0 and in first place in WSC North play. The Raiders will have a bye before hosting Pierce, Saturday, 2/3, to begin the second round of WSC North action.
