#3 Women's Basketball takes down Ventura and Hancock, move to 4-0 in WSC North action

The #3 Women's Basketball hosted Ventura then traveled to take on Hancock in week 2 of WSC North conference play and came away with 2 wins.
Taking on the visitors from the West county, the Raiders struggled with the visitor's defensive configuration but were able to grab the lead and control the first half despite the visititors playing inspired ball.
The third quarter started with the visitors going on a 9-1 run to take a 30-23 lead with just under 5 minutes left. At that point, the light switch turned on and the Raiders went on a 10-2 run to close out the 3rd and take a 33-32 going into the 4th. The Raiders used a combination of defensive stops and dribble drives to close out the game, 52-45.
Rebecca Saidof led the Raiders with 20 points with 8 rebounds. Mika Jarrett added 15 points. Success Prysock grabbed 9 rebounds.
In game two of the week, the road Raiders opened the game with a 6-0 lead before the host would score a point. However the Raiders offense generated just another 3 points to end the quarter with a 9-6 lead. The second quarter saw both teams going on a shooting spree with the Raiders slowly pulling away and a 28-20 halftime lead.
In the 3rd quarter, the Raiders were able to bulid their lead with a 13-4 run with just under 3 minutes left to end the quarter with a 43-29 lead. Even though the Bulldogs had other plans, the Raiders were able to hold off the hosts to take the win, 57-43.
The Raiders used a balanced scoring with Rebecca Saidof leading the Raiders with 11 points with 8 rebounds. Rome Falcocchia added 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Mika Jarret scored 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The Raiders are now 4-0 in WSC North, 16-3 overall. They will travel to Oxnard, Wednesday, 1/24, then come back and host Cuesta on Saturday, 1/27
