#6 Women's Basketball pushes past Pasadena City on the second night of the Tommy A. Showcase

On day 2 of the Tommy A. North South Showcase, the #6 Women's basketball team hosted #20 Pasadena City College and it was the Raiders that came away with the win, 71-54.

The first quarter was a see-saw battle as both teams exchaged baskets throughout the stanza. However it was the Lancers that took advantage of a Raider sluggish start, taking a 16-14 1st quarter lead.

The first 4:15 minutes of the 2nd quarter mirrored the first ten minutes of game causing a frustrated Coach Plummer to call a time-out. The Raiders switched to a full-court pressure defense out of the time-out. At that point the Raiders defense was too much for Pasadena to handle and the rout was on as they went on a 19-0 run to end the 2nd quarter and take a 41-22 halftime lead.

The second half went the same way as the first 15 minutes with both teams exchanging basket the rest of the night, 71-54 Raiders.

Rebecca Saidof had a team high 20 points. PG Mika Jarrett had 14 points. Angelina Santana and Keilani Peralta added 12 and 11 points respectivley off the bench. Success Prysock who had 6 points and 8 rebounds, made the biggest impact on the defensive side keeping pressure on the Lancer backcourt the whole night.

The Raiders will next take on #2 Palomar on the final night of the Tommy A. Showcase, Saturday, 12/16 at 6p.
