The Moorpark College men's and women's basketball teams have been adding to the win column since the season started November 4.
The women's team found themselves in the final of a season-opening tournament on Nov. 6, but falling valiantly to College of the Sequoias 79-76 in OT. Since then, the Raiders have had two setbacks before beating East LA 65-55 at home on Saturday, Nov. 12.
Moorpark is 3-3 in its first six games led by Sabrina Belquist's 18.7 points per game, and Kaydn Mew's 12.3 points per contest. Gianna Falacocchia, Skylar Dillon and Success Prysock are all averaging more than five rebounds per game for the Raiders.
The men's team is 3-2 through five games, including back-to-back wins over Cal Miramar and Santa Monica, respectively.
Justin Stanziano is averaging 18.4 points per game and Jeremiah Windham is averaging 16.2 points per game this season. Jamal Unuakhalu is averaging a double-double for the Raiders, scoring 10.8 points per game and pulling down 9.6 rebounds per game, too.
