Men's Volleyball season ends at Golden West in CCCAA quarterfinals

Huntington Beach, CA - The Raiders knew they were going into a battle when the CCCAA Men's Volleyball pairings were announced. Having opened the season against Golden West, dropping a 3-2 thriller, the Raiders were hoping for a better outcome this time around in the play-offs but it wasn't meant to be with the Raiders dropping the match, 3-1.

In game one, the Raiders trailed the whole game never getting closer than 3 points, dropping G1, 20-25.

The second game was a different story with the Raiders controling most of the game forcing the Rustlers to play from behind. The Rustlers chipped away at the Raider lead and with a couple hitting errors, catching the Raiders at 20 and taking a 23-20 lead. The Raiders were unfazed scoring 3 straight to tie the match having serving rights but the ensuing serve went into the nest and Golden West served for the win, 25-23.

Trailing two games to nill, the Raiders put on a clinic in game 3. The Raiders came out strong and played their best volleyball of the night, leading by as much as 7 at one point and they put away the Rustlers taking G3, 25-19. 

The Game 3 momentum carried into game 4. The Raiders opened with an early lead and hung on to the lead deep into the game. The Rustlers, using a couple of Raider errors, fought back to tie the game at 19. From there is was back and forth with both teams having a chance to win. The Riaders had advantage at 25, 26 and tied it at 27 but Golden West made a clutch block and a kill down the middle to take G4, 29-27

The Raiders end their at 8-4 in WSC, 12-7 overall and a second straight trip to the play-offs.
