Men's Volleyball gets back on winning track, sweep El Camino

MOORPARK, CA - After dropping two close 5 game matches, the Raiders hosted El Camino to continue WSC action and came away with a 3-0 sweep over the Warriors.

The Raiders came out firing on all pistons and jumped on the Warriors in game 1. The Raiders jumped on the visitors going on scoring runs of 10-4, 18-2, and finally 7-1 to take game 1, 25-7.

In game 2, the Raider offense kept clicking opening a 9-3 score. Some key Raiders hitting errors and serving mistakes kept the Warriors close but the Raiders eventually pulled away to close out game 2, 25-18.

Game 3 mirrored game 2. The Raiders opened with a 6-2 lead and slowly pulled away from the Warriors. El Camino cut into the Raider lead making the score 10-5 but once again the Raiders got a few blocks and thwarted any Warrior thoughts of a comeback, 25-18.

Kaipono Benson had 11 kills. Taylor Phipps added 9 kills. Merit Ghodrat had 25 assists.

The Raiders will next host D3 opponnet Wentworth at Cal Lutheran, Saturday, 10a. Wentworth is on their West Coast spring break swing.
