Men's Volleyball takes Santa Monica and Long Beach to 5 sets but drop both matches

MOORPARK, CA - Due to a peculiarity in their schedule, the Men's Volleyball had nearly two and half weeks off before hosting Santa Monica in their WSC opener last week.

The Raiders opened the match taking game one, 25-21. Game 2 and 3 mirrored each other. The Raiders took an early lead in each of the games before the Corsairs would go on runs to take the lead which meant the Raiders played behind and eventually ran out of time, dropping both by the scores of 22-25 and 20-25. Game 4 was close throughout with niether team able to take control. The score was tied at 22, 23 and 24 before the Raiders put together two set plays to take the the game, 26-24. Game 5 was just as close but with the score tied at 11, a couple hitting errors by the Raiders gave the Corsairs the advantage the rest of the way.

In their second match of the week, the Raiders traveled to perrenial power Long Beach City with the Raiders dropping that match in 5 games.

The Raiders are now 0-2 in WSC and 4-4 overall and will host El Camino on Wednesday, 3/6 at 6p.
