Men's Volleyball rally falls short, drops season opener to Golden West

Men's Volleyball opened the season losing a 5 game thriller to Golden West. Game scores were 24-26, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21, and 9-15.

The Raiders opened the match firing on all cylinders taking a 8 point lead at one point in the set but Golden West used a 9-2 run to take game one, 26-24.

Game 2 saw the Rusltlers carry their momemtum to a 25-18 set 2 win.

Game 3 went back and forth before the Raiders were able to put some space in beteween themselves and the Rustlers. Eventually the Raiders put the the game away, 25-23.

With momentum on their side, the Raiders were able to get to the lead and hold off the Rustlers long enough to win game 4, 25-21.

Going into game 5 and with the Raiders looking to close out the match, Golden West had other plans. The game went back and forth until a combination of Raider micues and Rutler put aways, the Rustlers were up 11-9. The Raiders coud not overcome their miscues and the game ended on a questionable non-call with what looked like a hit antenna, 15-9 GW.

The Raiders next travel to Santiago Canyon and will take on Fullerton and the Hosts, Friday, 2/2.
