Men's Track sweeps competition while Women's Track finish in 3rd place at WSC Coastal Meet

VENTURA, CA - Traveling to Ventura for the second WSC meet of the season, the Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed against the Coastal portion of the conference, competeting against Ventura, Santa Barbara, Cuesta, Hancock and West LA. Having won 7 of 18 events, the men dominated the field finishing with 240 points followed closely by Ventura with 103 points. Cuesta was 3rd (72 points), Santa Barbara (58.5), Hancock (48 points), and West LA (32.5). 

With the 1st place finish, the Men are 10-0 in conference heading to the conference prelims and finals next month.

  • Aiden Bermudez broke the 12.00 barrier in the 100 (11.96)
  • Curtis Somerville improved 6 seconds in the 800m (2:03) 
  • Connor Gannon improved 7.75" in the pole vault for a college PR (13' 5.25")
  • Cole Jarvis improved 7.75" in the pole vault for a personal best (11'5.75")

On the Women's side, Ventura took honors with 150pts, followed by Cuesta with 137pts, then the Raiders with 117 points. West LA was 4th (60), followed by Hancock (51) with Santa Barbara (25) rounding out the scoring.

With the 3rd place finish, the Women are 8-2 in conference heading into the conference prelims and finals next month.

  • Ada Muzoglu improved 8 second in the 1500 (6:23)

 Next up, the Raiders will host the MC Invitational on Friday, 3/29 with events beginning at 12p.
