Men's and Women's Track & Field dominate WSC South Meet

LANCASTER, CA - Last Friday both the Men's and Women's Track & Field teams traveled to Antelope Valley College to compete in the WSC South meet and both teams swept the competition.

Five schools (Antelope Valley, Glendale, Moorpark, Santa Monica and West L.A.) were in attendance at AVC while the other 5 WSC schools (Bakersfield, Canyons, Cuesta, Hancock and Ventura) competed in the WSC North Meet

On the Men's side the Raiders scored 244 points followed by second place Santa Monica with 80 points. West LA was third with 78 points. Glendale was 4th with 30 points and Antelope Valley rounded out the scoring with 10 points.The Raiders won 11 of 17 events led by Thrower Kade Larson who won the Discus, Hammer, and Shot Put. Michael Holland won the 100m and 200m. Other Raider winners were Dominic DeLeon (400H), Ryan Tischhauser (110H), Ethan Smith (3K), Micheal Turner (Pole Vault), Jordan Navarro (Long Jump), and Cytres Vives (Javelin).

On the Women's side, the Raiders scored 268 points followed by Glendale with 94 points. Third place went to West LA with 81 points. Santa Monica and Antelope Valley tied with 26 points. As with the Men, the Women won 11 of 17 events led Ava Ball who on the Pole Vault, 100H, 400H, was lead off in the 4x100m, and the final leg of the 4x400m. Jaelyn Lee won the Discus and Hammer. Mayagrace Wilson won the 100m, 200m, and was second leg of the 4x100m. Other Raider winners were  Amani Hooker (Javelin), Mariah Kendrick (High Jump), Kailani Chisholm and Denver Mack-Reyes were on the 4x100m and 4x400m Relay teams as well. 

Both teams are now 4-0 after the meet and are scheduled to be at the Santa Monica Classic Inv on Friday, 3/8
