Moorpark crowns itself WSC track & field champions

The Moorpark College men's and women's track and field teams were extraordinary at the Western State Conference finals this past weekend. The efforts of both teams crowned the Raiders the WSC champions, earning 267 team points - 34 points more than second-place Bakersfield College (233 points).

The WSC Championships is the culmination of a two-day championship event, in which the top eight athletes in each event score points for their team and the top seven automatically qualify for the Southern California Regional Championships next weekend at Moorpark College.

Here were the top highlights from the weekend:

The 2022 Moorpark College Raiders:

Crowned 6 WSC Champions
Qualified 34 individuals for the Southern California Regionals in 60 events
An additional 21 athletes set new personal records

Five Raiders and a Relay Team were crowned WSC Champions:
