Men's, women's track and field each score 200+ to win WSC-South meet

Moorpark men's, women’s track and field each score over 200 points to win the WSC South Meet.

Men won seven events and scored 235 points in the 5-Way Western State Conference South meet.

Highlights include a stellar 1-4 finish in the 1500m. The 4-Pack was led by Johnny Slone (4:06.89) and closely followed by Matt Russell (4:10.19), Marcus Fehlman (4:10.54) and Bryce Gardhouse (4:11.26). The Raiders also took 4 of the top 5 spots in the 200m. Colin Quinn won his season opening 200m with a time of 22.41. Nicholas Balint was 3^rd (22.77), Will Davis 4^th (22.82) and Ryan Dunkleberger was 5^th (23.69).

Thrower, Jared Rhett won the Discus (131’3”), placed 2^nd in the Hammer (131’ 6”) and was 3^rd in the Shot Put (37’ 4 ½”).

The Lady Raiders won seven events to outscore the other four schools at the 5-way track meet. Highlights include a 1-3 finish in the Discus. Sophomore, Cynthia Hurtado led the way with her throw of 125’ and was followed by Jaelyn Lee (112’5”) and Jaclyn Brown (99’10”). Freshman, Ashley Yepez was 5^th with her throw of 94’ 7”. The Dynamic Duo of Samantha Crane and Kriztina Marquez placed 1^st and 2^nd, respectively in the 400m Hurdles and the Pole Vault.

Top scorer for the Raiders was freshman Ashlyn Larson who won the High Jump (4’11), placed 2^nd in the 100 Hurdles (18.63) and Long Jump (14’ 9 ¾”) and was 3^rd in the Javelin (60’1”).
