MC Football edged in OT by Allan Hancock in Strawberry Bowl

The Moorpark College football team fell short to Allan Hancock, 20-17, in overtime in the Strawberry Bowl Saturday afternoon.

Arath Acosta made a 45-yard field goal in the extra frame to give Allan Hancock the win.

After a scoreless first half, Moorpark fell down 7-0 before scoring 14 unanswered to take a 14-7 lead into the fourth quarter. Allan Hancock (6-5) responded with 10 unanswered points to take a 17-14 lead before Moorpark kicker Daniel Burke connected on a 22-yard FG to tie the game with 20 seconds left and force overtime.

Moorpark passed for 313 yards, led by Macloud Crowton's 255 and two touchdowns, but only rushed for 70 yards in the game. Wideouts River Stout and Arcelles Johnson had 145 and 111 yards receiving, respectively. Johnson hauled in both TD receptions.

Daniel Pierce led the Moorpark defense with 10 total tackles. Jacob Manico, Nico Narez and Zayden Hoots each had eight.

Moorpark concludes its season 6-5.
