Moorpark football edges Santa Ana on the road

Finally, the Raiders are in the win column.

The Moorpark College football team picked up its first win in nearly two calendar years by edging Santa Ana College 21-19 on the road Saturday night.

Quarterback Trae Johnson led the Raiders (1-1) with 257 yards on 23 of 38 passes and two touchdowns. Jacob Carbajal was on the recieving end of those two scoring tosses.

Defensive end Payton Casillas had 3.5 sacks in the game, including a strip sack to seal the wom.

The victory is the program's first since Sept. 21, 2019, and the first on the road since a 24-19 victory over Glendale on Sept. 15, 2018. The win snaps an 8-game losing streak.
