Baseball uses walk-off win to propel to a 3 game sweep of Oxnard

MOORPARK, CA - After the CCCBCA took their Spring Break, the Raider baseball team continued WSC North action taking on Oxnard in the usual 3 game week format. The Raiders used a walk-off win in game one, 5-4. Game two was a damp affair but the Raiders weathered the storm, 4-0. In the rubber match, the Raiders used a hit batter, a walk to push and sac fly to push the lone run across to get the win, 1-0.
The Raiders opened game one with lead off batter Anthony Deluca getting plucked in the back and took second on a wild pitch. Mingyu Kim RBI double scored Deluca to make it 1-0 after 1. Oxnard tied the game in the second and added 2 more in the 3rd to take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of 5. Yandel Guereque walked and moved to 2nd on a dropped 3rd strike. Daniel Orozco RBI single scored Guereque. 3-2 Condors after 5. Oxnard added an insurance run in the 8th to make it 4-2. The Condors went 1,2,3 in the top of the 9th. to set up the bottom half fireworks. Lead off batter Brandon Glucroft reached base on E5, next batter Guereque took a pitch in the back. Next batter PH Tre Harvey singled to left, bases loaded, no outs. Daniel Asplund struck out and Deluca popped up, 2 outs. The Raider's last batter Orozco tripled to right center clearing the bases, 5-4 walk off win. Orozco went 2 for 5 with 4 RBIs and picked up the win.
The second game of the week didn't look like it was going to happen with the chance of rain in the forecast. The Raiders opened the with Deluca and Orozco getting on base and Kim's two RBI double to open with a 2-0 lead. The Raiders added a run in the 5th and 8th to make it 4-0. Mingyu Kim went 1 for 3 with a double, SAC, and 3 RBIs. Anthony Deluca went 1 for 4 and scored twice. Daniel Orozco went 3 for 4, scored a run and pitched 3 innings. Caelan Eisenstein pitched 5 innings, scattering 3 hits to get the win.
With the 3 wins the Raiders are 8-7 in WSC North, 12-18 overall going into Santa Barbara week. They will play at Santa Barbara Wednesday, 4/10, 2:30p and Saturday, 4/13, 1p. They will host Santa Barbara on Thursday, 4/11 at 2:30p
