Baseball win streak halted at 5 by Cuesta in return to WSC North action

MOORPARK, CA - The Raiders returned to WSC North action taking on Cuesta last week. The team was on a 5 game winning streak and had hoped to continue it against Cuesta.
In the opening week's game, the Raiders were down 7-1 before scoring 4 runs in the top of the 6th to make it 7-5. Cuesta added an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th to make it 8-5. The Raiders were not done. They added a run in the 7th and 9th, leaving the tying run stranded on 3rd. Ryan Stewart went 2 for 4 with a RBI, a triple & 2 runs. Rodney Sabbe went 2 for 4 with a run and a RBI. Daniel Orozco & Mingyu Kim each doubled.
In the second match-up, the Raiders jumped on Cuesta starter Conner Tanner for 7 hits and 4 runs, 4-1 Raiders after 3. The following inning, Cuesta's bats got going putting up a crooked number to take a 5-4 lead after 4. The Raiders were only able to muster 4 hits the rest of the game. Cuesta ended the game adding two in the 9th. 7-4, Cougars. Jadyn Myatt went 2 for 5 with a HR, 3 RBIs, & 2 runs. Daniel Orozco went 2 for 5 with a double & 2 runs. Brandon Glucroft went 3 for 3 with a SAC. P Matthew Acosta took the loss.
In the rubber match, Cuesta scored 6 in the bottom of the first and never looked back, 14-4. Mingyu Kim went 2 for 4 with a Homerun. Daniel Aguilera went 2 for 5 with a run. Jadyn Myatt went 1 for 4 with a 3 run homerun.
The Raiders are now 9-16 on the year, 5-7 in WSC North action
The WSC will take their spring break this week and the Raiders will take on LA Valley in a home/home series starting Tuesday, 3/26, 2p at Valley, then return home on Wednesday, 3/27, 2p.
