ABOUT ATHLETICS

Moorpark College has a proud history of highly successful athletic programs and equaled by student athlete academic success since 1967. Moorpark College belongs to the very competitive Western State Conference (WSC), Southern Californa Football Association (SCFA), and the Southern California Wrestling Association (SCWA) all governed by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA)

To date, Moorpark College has 12 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships and 20 Postseason Bowl appearances highlight the athletic excellence.

Those State Championships are:

Wrestling 1990, 1991, 1997, 1999, 2000

Men’s Volleyball 2005, 2010

Men’s Track and Field 2003

Men’s Cross Country 1996, 1997

Women’s Soccer 1991

Men’s Golf 1981

Academic highlights include: two California Pepsi Scholar Athlete  of the Year Awards–2000 Cherisse Meichtry, 2007 Mary Hanley

Moorpark College has won 151 Western State Conference Championships and 10 Mountain Valley Conference Championships along with it's 12 California Community College State Championships.

Dunham
 (1996) and Keever (2008) both have been inducted into  the California Community College Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame. Keever was named the 2006 California Community College Athletic Director of the Year, inducted into the 2019 Callifornia Community College Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame, and into the 2020 California Community College Athletic Association Hall of Fame. Manakas was named to the 2012 Callifornia Community College Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame.
