Congratulations to Softball and Track & Field


 SOFTBALL

The Moorpark College softball team finished the regular season 29-9 overall and 12-0 in the Western State Conference North Division to win the WSC title.
 
The Raiders went 10-3 in April to finish the season, including six straight victories.
 
Freshman Lindsey Cowans has been stellar from the plate this season, batting .318 with 29 RBIs, 30 runs and 5 homers in 34 games. Her stuff from the circle is more impressive, going 17-3 in 25 appearances with 176 strikeouts and a mind-blowing 0.82 ERA. Cowans went 7-0 in conference play with an ERA of 0.13.
 
The power bats heading into the postseason are Alexa Martinez (47H, 40RBI, 6HR), Leana Venegas (39H, 24RBI), and Marley Taormina (41H, 27RBI, 8 triples).

TRACK AND FIELD

The Moorpark College men's and women's track and field teams were extraordinary at the Western State Conference finals, scoring 267 team points and crowning the Raiders the WSC champions. Six athletes won WSC individual titles, 34 athletes qualified for the SoCal Regional finals in 60 events and 21 Raiders set new personal bests.

  • Will Davis in the 100m (10.62 - PR)
  • Nicholas Balint in the 200m (21.91 – PR)
  • Johnny Slone in the 5K (15:21) & in 10K (32.33)
  • Jaclyn Brown in the Javelin (114' 2")
