The #9 Women's Volleyball continued their winning ways sweeping Mira Costa in the first game of the week and followed that up with a 4-1 win over College of the Canyons to cap off the week and extending their winning streak to 5 games.
Hosting Mira Costa in an afternoon matinee to open the week, the Raiders and Spartans played evenly throughout all three games. As usual the Raiders took the lead late in the games and didn't look back. 25-22, 25-21, and 25-20. Grace Hazelton had 14 kills, Alesia Thomas had 10 kills with 10 digs. Prior Borick had 16 digs while Gaby Shirado had 33 assists.
To cap off the week, the Raiders traveled to Santa Clarita to take on College of the Canyons. The Raiders dominated games 1 & 2, 25-15, 25-14, and it was looking like a Raiders sweep but the Cougars said "not in our house". Canyons took control early of game 3, leading as many as 10 points. With Raiders rallying to get it close but the defecit was too much as the Raiders ran out of time.20-25.
Game 4 started off the same way game 3 ended, with the Raiders struggling to find points. Canyons took the early lead but the game turned into a back and forth affair. With the score 20-22 and looking the match was headed to a game 5, the Raiders scored final 5 points to get the set and match, 25-22. Alesia Thomas had 14 kills, Grace Hazelton had 10 kills with 10 digs. Abby Montana had 11 kills and Prior Borick had 18 digs. Gaby Shirado had 37 assists.
The Raiders are currently 9-2 on the year and will host Santa Monica, wednesday, 9/25, 6p before hitting the road to Bakersfield, Friday, 9/27, 6p
