Women's Track and Field Athletes post PRs and impressive times at own MC Invitational
The Raiders had a lot of fun hosting 17 colleges & universities at this year's Moorpark Invitational.
There were over 600 athletes registered for the meet! The Moorpark Raider Track & Field program would like to thank the MC Men's Volleyball team and assistant Coach Austin McIntyre for volunteering to help officiate and keep the meet running smoothly – we couldn't have done this without the athletes and the leadership of Coach McIntyre! After working for several hours in the heat, the Raiders Volleyball team defeated SBCC in 4 exciting games!
Keira Wyatt hit season bests in the 100m (12.16), 200m (25.78) and the long jump (16' 4 ½"). She won the long jump, placed 2nd in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m. Keira's performances move her onto the MC Raider Top 10 List. She is ranked #2 in the 100m and #9 in the 200m. With 6 weeks to go there is a possibility she can top the 12.06 100m time set by Renee Hembree in 1986.
Another outstanding performance came from Maya Natarajan who ran her first track 5K. Her 2nd place finish in a time of 17:58 ranks her 6th in the state and places her in the #5 spot for the MC Top 10 List.
Outstanding performance for the Raiders came from Eric Glover who won the shot put with a season best throw of 45' 9 1/4". His throw was a 2-foot improvement!!
Malik Hensley-Prince placed 2nd in the 200 (21.32) and 4th in the 100m (10.75). His 200m time places him 4th on the Raider All-Time list. Malik's season best 400m time (48.29) places him 9th on the all-time list.
