MOORPARK, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2025) – In the final week of the regular season, the Moorpark College women's soccer team crafted up a memorable Sophomore Day, defeating Cuesta 4-1 at home on Nov. 4 before rounding out the season with a 1-0 shutout on the road at Allan Hancock on Friday, Nov. 7.
Mia Woods capitalized on her final home appearance, scoring the first goal of the game, just over five minutes into the game and again with the ultimate game winner at the 31:24 mark. Twelve minutes after the first score, Cuesta hit the equalizer, knotting things at 1-1. Sofia Albarracin got in on the action with a third goal for MC in the 35th minute, which wrapped up the first half scoring.
Out of the intermission, the Raiders continued to play solid defense while offensively, Alysa Diaz tacked on her seventh goal of the season. Maria Sturges recorded seven saves in the win.
On Friday, the Raiders left it all on the field again when Sturges stood tall as a wall with eight saves in her ninth shutout of the season. Cynthia Centeno teamed up with Rhianna Golson for the game-winner at the 54-minute mark, which was also the only scoring play of the contest.
The sophomore class of Woods, Diaz, Brynn Bomberg, Lacy Roberts, Maddison Duenas, Lillian Werner, Jossilynn Harris and Sophia Brees was recognized prior to the game as the eight Raiders suited up at home for the final time.
Moorpark (9-7-3, 4-4-3 WSC) has wrapped up its regular season and will await a potential bid to postseason play.
