Women's Soccer falls to Santa Barbara and Pierce as play-off bid takes a hit
The Moorpark College Soccer team were on the road this week first taking on conference leader Santa Barbara to open the week and capping off on the road to Pierce. The Raiders needed two wins or a split to keep their play-off hopes alive. The Raiders ended up dropping a close 1-0 match at Santa Barbara and a back and forth 4-2 loss to Pierce.
Elena Villa scored the first goal of the game for the Raiders but Santa Barbara scored two more after that to get the 2-1 win.
At Pierce, the Brahmas scored an own goal but Kaiya Holts got the credit for the score in the 12th minute. The Brahmas came back in the 18th minute to tie the game, 1-1.
In the second half, Taylor Selznick broke the 1-1 tie in the 67th minute. Three minutes later, Pierce came right back to tie the game 2-2. Pierce would go on to score two more times in the 73rd minute and in stoppage time.
With the latest results, the Raiders are 4-5 in WSC North and 9-7 overall.They host Oxnard on Tuesday, 11/5 and back on the road to Cuesta on 11/8, 3p
