Women's Golf caps off undefeated season to claim WSC Championship and qualify for 3C2A Southern Cal Regionals

Competing at Marshall Canyon GC, the Moorpark College Women's Golf team was looking to make history and complete a undefeated championship season at the two day WSC Finals held Sunday and Monday. When it was over, the Raiders brought home the championship, the 2nd in school history, but did so at 54-0. The first ever Women's Golf undefeated season in school history

On the first day, the Raiders shot a team low 333 to end the day sitting in first place. Santa Barbara was second with a score of 354. College of the Canyons was sitting in third with a score of 403. Hancock was in fourth with a score of 410. Antelope Valley had a score of 493 sat in fifth place.

Lisette Orellana was sitting in 2nd place with a 75. Taylor Waters carted a 76 and was tied at 3rd place. Makayla Low shot an 90 was in 4th place and Kaila Aparicio was siting in 6th place with a 92.

On day two, the Raiders were able to shave of 10 strokes off their first day score and shot a 323 to claim first place and the Championship. Santa Barbara ended the day shooting 342 to take 2nd place. Canyons finished in 3rd place shooting a 380. Hancock ended the day shooting a 416 for 4th place. Antelope Valley, Bakersfield, and Citrus didn't figure in the team scoring. 

Canyon's Sahya Kitabatake was the two day low medalist shooting a 148 and was named WSC POY. Raider Lisette Orellano and Annie Betts of Santa Barbara tied at second each with a 150. Raider Taylor Waters was 4th with a 155. Makayla Low was in 5th place shooting a 170. Kaila Aparicio ended up shooting a two day total of 181, tied in 7th place

All four Raiders, Orellana, Waters, Low, and Aparicio, were named All-WSC First Team. Head Coach Chuck Lyon and Assistant Coach Mike Crone were named Coaching Staff of the Year.

With the top finish, the Raiders qualified for the 3C2A Southern California Regional finals and will be hosted by the Orange Empire Conference at a site TBA starting On Sunday, November 3rd 10a.
