#4 Women's Basketball captures 6th straight WSC North crown with their 111-32 win over Oxnard
Having already clinched a tie for the WSC North title, #4 Women's Basketball made it an outright championship with a 111-32 drubbing of Oxnard College on a night where they celebrated 5 outgoing Sophomores. Leaving is 2024 All-State 2nd Team and 2024 All-WSC Guard Mika Jarrett, Angelina Santana, Kristan Yumall, Princess Byrd, and Alyssa Saldana.
With the win, Women's Basketball has now won their 6th straight WSC North crown, their 3rd straight undefeated conference season. The Raiders are leading the WSC North with a 11-0 record, a 23-4 overall record and their 16th straight win. They will conclude the regular season at LA Mission on Friday, 2/21 at 6pm.
The Raiders used a 22-2 run at the end of the first quarter on the way to a 33-9 opening 1st quarter score. The Raiders defense and run and gun style was relentless against the Condors as they forced them into 12 turnovers and a 65-18 halftime score.
The second half was more of the same Raiders style of basketball. In the end, 31 Oxnard turnovers led to 58 points and a 111-32 Raiders victory.
6 Raiders scored in double figure led by Genesis Gonzalez's 19 points. Kristal Yumal and Mika Jarrett added 13 points and 11 points respectively. Maleyni Toliver, Mikayla Oliver and Alyssa Saldana added 17, 16, and 11 points respectively off the bench to round out the leading scorers.
