Plummer get 200th MC coaching win as #4 Women's Basketball defeats Long Beach at East LA's Okawa Classic
The #4 Women's Basketball team defeated Long Beach, 55-51, on the opening day of the Okawa Classic hosted by East LA College. With the win, Coach Kenny Plummer earned his 200th MC coaching win. Plummer, who is in 10th season at the helm, reached his first 100 wins in the middle of his 7th season and reached the latest mark in just under 4 seasons. Plummer is a 5-time WSC North Coach of the Year and 2019 CCCWBCA South Coach of the Year.
The Raidersstill having christmas cheer, trailed the Vikings 21-13 after 1 quarter. Long Beach were able to keep the Raiders at bay holding a 35-26 lead.
The Raiders would open the 3rd quarter with a 19-10 lead to tie the score at 45 after 3. Both teams struggled in the 4th but it was the Raiders who would eventually seperate themselves from the Vikings.
Marianne Boco led the Raiders with 20 points and Alyssa Saldana added 13 points.
The Raiders will continue at the Okawa Classic, taking on Skyline and San Bernardino Valley College.
