Softball season ends in extra innings at the 3C2A play-in game against Mt San Jacinto
The Raider Softball season came to an end in 9 innings at Mt San Jacinto in the 3C2A So Cal Regional play-in game, 6-5. The Raiders end the season at 21-14 overall and 11-3 in WSC North for 2nd place.
The Raiders trailed 2-0 but scored a run in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings to take a 3-2 lead into the top of the 6th. Mt San Jacinto answered with two runs in their half of the 6th to take 4-3 lead into the 7th.
in the top of the 7th, Mia Gregory and Ashlyn Olson both singled to open the inning. Gregory scored on a wild pitch and Olson was standing at 2nd. Leah Cowans sacraficed to move Olson to 3rd. Olson scored on a pass ball to give the Raiders a 5-4 lead. The Eagles tied the game at 5-5 with a walk, a sac bunt to move the runner over. The 3rd batter singled to center to push the run across. Pitcher Amanda Smith got the next two batters to send the game into extra innings.
In the 8th inning, both teams had a chance to score. The Raider's Kailey Greene reached base on E3 and ended up on 2nd base. Danielle Bishop walked to give the Raiders 2 on, no outs. Tatum Reyes struck out and Camila Dalmau bunted to move the runners over with lead-of hitter Gregory coming to the plate. Gregory ended the inning with a grounder to 1st.
The Raiders sent 4 to the plate in their top half of the 9th leaving Kylie Kolkowski standing of 1st. The 1st Mt San Jacinto batter in the bottom half of the 9th walked and was followed by a single. The next batter hit a sharp single down the left field line to end the game, 6-5
