Softball drops twin bill to Antelope Valley in rain shortened week

Scheduled to play four games this week, the Raider Softball team was only able to get their double header against Antelope Valley in before the rain came in forcing the postponement of their double header at Riverside. The Raiders ended up dropping both games to Antelope Valley, 5-13, 5 innings and a heartbreaking 10-11 loss in walk off fashion.
To open game one game, with 2 outs, Kylie Kolkowski homered with Danielle Bishop standing on second. The next Raider batter Isabella Velasquez homered to left center and the Raiders were up 3-0 to in the top of the first. The Marauders would add a run in the 1st and second inning to make it 3-2 after 2. The Raiders would add 2 more runs, a Kailey Greene homerun and an Abrianna Ramirez RBI single. After that, it was all AVC. They would go on to explode for 11 runs to get the 5 inning 8 run rule win.
Game two turned out to be an entertaining softball game. The Raiders scored a run when Velaquez was walked with bases loaded. The Marauders scored their run on a RBI single, 1-1 after 1 inning. The Raiders would explode for 7 runs in the second capped off by Greene's 3 run homerun. Antelope Valley would add 4, 8-5 after 2 innings. The Raiders added 2 more runs in the 5th, meanwhile the host added 2 in the 4th and tied the score with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th, 10-10. The Raiders had a chance in the top of the 7th. Mia Gregory was hit by a pitch but caught stealing. Bishop singled but AVC pitching got the 3rd out. The Marauders used two hits to get the walk-off run, 11-10.
Isabella Velasquez was 5-5 with 4 RBIs and a homerun on the day. Kylie Kolkowski was 5-8 with 4 RBIs and a homerun and Kailey Greene was 2-5 with 3 RBIs and 2 homeruns on the day.
The Raiders will be at Glendale next Tuesday, 2/18 at 2:00p. The Riverside double-header will be made up on Friday, April 18th. 1p & 3:30p
