An inspired Santa Barbara squad came right out of the gate and took control of game one. As the Raider's mistakes kept mounting so did the Vaquero lead. The Raiders would eventually respond but they ran out of time, 11-25.
The Raiders uprighted the ship in game 2 but it wasn't easy going. They would have to fight for every point as the teams exchanged points all the way to 18-18 before the Raiders would capitalize on key put-aways by Tyler Linville and Jacob Knudsen to take game 2, 25-20.
Game 3 was a uphill battle for the Raiders with Santa Barbara leading most of the game. Down by as many as 3 points late, the Raiders battled to make it 23-23. Santa Barbara scored the next point and the Raiders responded. 24-24. The Raiders would then score 3 straight points to get the win 27-25 and a 2-1 advantage.
Santa Barbara used the same formula it used in game 1 to take games 4, 5 and the match.
