Men's Volleyball splits at San Diego Mesa Quad
Men's Volleyball traveled to San Diego Mesa College to take on host Mesa and San Diego Miramar in a quad match format. The fourth team was Santa Barbara City College. Men's Volleyball installed the quad system to help teams cut down on travel time and costs.
The Raiders took on the host Olympians to start the day. Mesa came into the match 4-0 and the #2 ranked team. The Raiders entered the match, 2-1 and ranked #6. The Raiders started off slowly dropping game one, 18-25 and game 2, 15-25. However the Raiders didn't fold and took Mesa to extra points to get the 31-29 win. The Raiders took the momentum into the 4th game but eventually dropped the game and match, 21-25.
Up next was San Diego Miramar. The Raiders swept the Jets 3-0 to end the day.
The Raiders are now 3-2 overall and will host defending State Champ Orange Coast on Thursday, 2/27 at 6p. They follow that up hosting their own quad meet the following day as Grossmont and Palomar come into town, Friday 2/28. 10a & 1p.
