The Moorpark College Men's Soccer team concluded their 2024 season on the the road first against Santa Barbara and then finishing the week off at Hancock.
The inspired Raiders were looking to keep the eventual WSCN champion Vaqueros from clinching the title against them and quickly opened the scoring early in the game, 1-0 Raiders. That only seemed to rile up the hosts and they went on a 3-0 scoring run to make the game 3-1 at the half. With the air taken out of them, the Raiders were only able to manage 6 more shots in the second half.
Headed to one of the hardest places to play at, the Raiders were playing to stay out of the WSCN cellar taking on the Hancock. It was sophomore day and a quick start for the Bulldogs as they put a ball past GK Artun Vance to make it 1-0 in the 10th minute. The Bulldogs went into defend mode and packed the Raider front end. It almost worked until the 63rd minute when So. Rudy Maravilla found Troy Mishkanian on the left side to tie the game, 1-1. The game became some what physical as both teams worked the ball into scoring position only to run out of time. 1-1 final.
The Raiders finish the season 5-10-4 overall and 1-6-3 in WSC North.
