Men's Soccer rolls to a 5-1 win over Cypress

After taking a well deserved week's rest, the Raiders got back on the field hosting Cypress College. The Raiders were looking to break a 3 game losing streak and the visiting Chargers seemed to be the answer they were looking for.

After 30 minutes of back and forth action, it was the Raiders that broke through first when Uzi Diaz sent a ball past the Charger keeper in the 31st minute. The Raiders took the 1-0 lead into the half.

In the second half, Marcos Hernadez scored the next Raider goal on a pass from Rudy Maravilla in the 57th minute, 2-0 Raiders. Two minutes later, Cypress made their presence known scoring the next goal, 2-1 Raiders still leading. That Charger goal woke up the Raiders as they went on a scoring barrage. Daniel Marshall scored in the 65th minute, Hernadex scored his second gaol in the 71st minute and Troy Mishkanian scored a minute later.

The Raiders are currently 2-4-1on the year and will host Imperial Valley on Thursday, 9/26 at 3p. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, 9/27 but was moved to Thursday.
