With the emergency campus closures that required some shuffling of the schedule meant the Men's Basketball team would have to play 4 games in 7 days. The Raiders traveled to Oxnard to open the week. The upstart Condors looked like a team that could upend the Raider's chances at a WSC North title but that idea was squashed by the Raiders. The Raiders knew the task and defeated the Condors, 82-62. Continuing on the road, the Raiders headed to Ventura to take on the Pirates. With Cuesta on the horizon, the Raiders avoided the trap game and cruised by the Pirates, 94-74. To close out the week, the Raiders were back home hosting Cuesta and were looking to avenge their only loss in conference. The Raiders started out slow but eventually would get untracked and get the 79-69 win.
With the 3 wins, the Raiders have now won 6 straight but more importantly take a 2 game lead over Cuesta in the conference standings with 3 left to play. The Raiders are currently 18-7 overall and 8-1 in WSC North. They can clinch a tie for the title with a win over Hancock, thier lone game next week.
Taking on upstart Oxnard, the Raiders came out firing on all pistons to take a 47-28 halftime lead. The Condors would play the Raiders evenly in the 2nd but the Raiders were in control. Isaiah Sherrard led the Raiders with 19 points. Reese Widerburg had 15 points. Kenji Cooper grabbed 10 rebounds.
Playing host Ventura, the Raiders kept their focus on the Pirates to avoid the trap game and raced out to a 43-24 halftime lead. Ventura would play the Raiders even the second half but the game was out of reach and the Raiders pick up win #2.
5 Raiders scored in double digits led by Reese Widerburg with 24 points. Isaiah Sherrard had a double double, 19 points and 18 rebounds. Dominick Contreras added 14 points off the bench.
The Raiders were slow out of the gate and struggled with their shooting against Cuesta. It was looking like a repeat of their last match-up with the Cougars taking a 34-25 halftime lead. In the second half the Raiders went on a 33-9 run to take control of the game and their own destiny.
Isaiah Sherrard led the Raiders with 20 points. Cooper Lucas had 19 points and Reese Widerburg had 15 points.
