Men's Basketball went 1-1 on the week, dropping a contest, in their lowest point output of the season, to Cuesta, 67-57 and winning a back and forth 1 point thriller over Hancock, 88-87.
The Raiders, no strangers to long road trips, took their longest trip of the season to San Luis Obispo to take on long time "rival" Cuesta. The hosts didn't provide a live play by play, live stats or a live stream which was extremely odd.
The Raiders went to take a 31-26 lead into halftime. The Raiders had 9 point lead before Cuesta went on their run to outscore the Raiders by 15 to get the win.
The 57 points was the lowest point output of the season with Raiders shooting 34% from the floor and 30% from beyond the arc. Isaiah Sherrard led the Raiders with 18 points. Reese Widerburg added 17 points and Jordan Torres had 14 points.
To close out the week, the short handed Raiders hosted Hancock. The Raiders opened up a 9 point lead before the Bulldogs cut it to 3 with just under 6 minutes left in the first half. But the Raiders to keep Hancock at bay, taking a 49-48 lead into halftime.
The second half was literally a back and forth affair. There was 7 ties, and 20 lead changes with the last lead change coming at :10 to go when Reese Widerbug's two free-throws put the Raiders ahead. Hancock had chance to win but the shot was blocked by Isaiah Sherrard and with :02 seconds left, the Bulldogs couldn't get a shot up. 88-87 Raiders.
Cooper Lucas led the Raiders with his game high 30 points. Jordan Torres had 17 points coming of the bench.
The Raiders are now 3-1 in WSC North action, 13-7 overall. They will have their bye on Wednesday before traveling to Oxnard to take on the upstart Condors on Saturday, 1/25 at 3p.
