The #28th ranked Men's Basketball team opened defense of their WSC North crown with a pair of decisive wins. A 91-67 win over Santa Barbara and a 36 point 103 -67 win over Ventura.

In the mid-week contest at Santa Barbara, the Raiders took control early going on runs of 12-0 and 16-5 to take a 53-31 lead at the half. The second half was played evenly but the outcome was already in place.

Jordan Torres led a quintet of Raiders to score in double-figures. He scored a game high 19 points and had 10 rebounds. Isaiah Sherrard added 15 points. Kenji Cooper and Reese Widerburg each scored 14 points. Dominick Contrearas added 12 points. 

To close out the week, the Raiders hosted Ventura and the Raiders continued their hot play taking a 21 point, 58-37 halftime lead over the Pirates. In the opening minutes, both teams exchanged baskets before the Raiders would go on a 24-0 run to get the rout started.

The second half continued with the Raiders extending their lead by as much as 40 and when the dust settled, the Raiders got the 103-67 win. 

Kenji Cooper led the Raiders with a game high 19 points. Reese Widerburg added 15 points and Dashaun Warren had 14 points.

The Raiders are now 12-6 overall and 2-0 in WSC North. They will travel to Cuesta on Wednesday. 1/15 at 7p and will come back to host Hancock on Saturday, 1/18 at 3p.
