Men's Basketball stumbles at the Alvin Hunter Classic
After starting the season 2-0 and defeating the defending state champ, West Valley, the Men's Basketball team traveled to San Bernarding to compete in the Alvin HUnter Classic Tournament. 6 of the 8 teams in the field were ranked in the top 20 in their respective region.
The Raiders dropped the tournament opener to #12 West LA, 74-63. Jordan Torres led the Raiders with 13 points. Dominick Contrearas added 11 points.
In the consolation semi-finals, the Raiders took on an athletic Compton College team and fell by a score of 89-71. Kenji Cooper led the Raiders with 16 points and Jordan Torres added 14 points before leaving the game.
On day 3 in the 7th place game, the Raiders took on #19 Santa Monica and lost, 92-79. DaShaun Warren led a quartet of Raiders to score in double figures with 18 points. Niko Limbert scored 14 points, Tim Lopez scored 11 points, and Contrearas and Tidiane Sy each added 10 points.
The Raider's schedule doesn't any easier as they hit the road next to take on #1S Fullerton on Saturday, 11/16 @1p
