Moorpark College men’s basketball had to make a coaching change on Tuesday this week after now-former head coach Gerred Link announced he accepted a position at Porterville College to be the school’s athletic director.
Moorpark College men's basketball had to make a coaching change on Tuesday this week after now-former head coach Gerred Link announced he accepted a position at Porterville College to be the school's athletic director.
Assistant coach Chris Morgan was immediately named interim head coach of the Raiders that Tuesday, and now off to a great start after Moorpark took down Orange Coast 88-84 on the road Thursday night.
Former Oxnard standout and CSUN transfer Mason Johnson had a game-high 27 points (and nine rebounds). Sophomore guard Najeem Nawabi had 21, and Tim Andreolli had 15.
Link, who began his new position at Porterville on Thursday was quick to show support on Twitter after the win.

Morgan is expected to be the interim head coach for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
