TIM ANDREOLLI, JAZZY CARRASCO NAMED JANUARY’S ATHLETES OF THE MONTH
MOOPARK COLLEGE'S JANUARY STUDENT ATHLETES OF THE MONTH
Tim Andreolli – Men's Basketball
The sophomore standout from Royal High School in Simi Valley averaged 25 points per game in January and shot 50% from beyond the 3-point arc. He led the Raiders to big wins over No. 22 Allan Hancock and LA Pierce College.
Andreolli is the top scorer in the WSC North, seventh in rebounds and 10th in assists.
"Tim is the perfect embodiment of what it means to be a student athlete. He works hard on and off the court and is overall a joy to coach," interim head coach Chris Morgan said. "He is a team leader and leads by example."
Andreolli is currently looking at continue his education and play basketball at Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State
Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay. He currently is a majoring in biology. His ultimate plans are undecided but is sporting a 3.33 GPA.
When not playing basketball Tim enjoys hanging out with friends and surfing.
Jazmin "Jazzy" Carrasco – Women's Basketball
Carrasco has been instrumental in the success of the No. 1 team in the Southern California and No. 2 in the State. This season she is averaging 16 pointer per game and has scored 352 total points. Carrasco is second in conference in assists averaging 5.3 per game and 1.9 steals. Her leadership has led the Raiders to 22-1 record, including a unbeaten 5-0 record in WSC action, and a 14-game win streak.
Carrasco is a 3.9 GPA student majoring in Communications and is interested in broadcasting. She will be earning degrees in Communications and Social Behavior Sciences. Carrasco plans will include continuing to play basketball, possibly at Southern Utah or Western Kentucky.
When not playing basketball, she enjoys working out in the gym. Most important is she enjoys spending time with her family.
"She is a phenomenal role model on and off the court," said basketbal coach Kenny Plummer. "Jazzy challenges all to be better at whatever they do. She has a great future ahead and exemplifies what it means to be a Moorpark College Raider."
