MC Football thumps LA Pierce for second straight win
The Moorpark College football team beat Los Angeles Pierce 74-0 at home Saturday night.
The win gives the Raiders (4-3) its second straight victory and keeps them unbeaten in the American-Pacific Conference at 2-0.
Moorpark jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter before an eventual 51-0 lead at halftime.
The lopsided result allowed for more plays to play Saturday night. Three quarterbacks played, nine players registered a carry and nine players registered a catch. Three kickers registered an extra point and 22 players registered a tackle on defense.
Bennett Johnston was 10 of 13 passing for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Gabe Landless led the team in rushing with 55 yards on seven carries and a score. Top wideout Alexander Capka-Jones led the team in receiving with two catches for two touchdowns.
Moorpark will host LA Valley College on Saturday, October 29, at 6 p.m.
