Baseball concludes their '24 campaign finishing 5th in WSC North

MOORPARK, CA - The Raider Baseball team closed out thier 2024 season with 3 straight losses to 2nd place Cuesta, Oxnard, and eventual champ Santa Barbara.

The Raiders entered the final having to play the two top teams in the conference and taking in Oxnard who they had previously swept in the earlier 3 game set.

Hosting Cuesta, who had championship aspirations on their mind, the Raider bats were able to scatter 6 hits but couldn't string enough hits together to produce runs. The Raiders were able to score two runs but it was a little too late to make a difference.

Traveling to the "Nest", the Raiders opened the scoring on Mingyu Kim's RBI double scoring Daniel Orozco but after that it was all Condors. The Raiders would manage 1 run on 5 hits the rest of the way.

Hosting Santa Barbara in their season finale and Sophomore Day, the Raiders opened the game with two staright singles with Daniel Orozco scoring on Jadyn Myatt's SAC fly. It remained 1-0 until the Vaqueros scored twice in the top of the 5th. In their half of the 5th, the Raiders were able to push two of their own to re-take a 3-2 lead going to the 6th. Jack Almeida opened with a walk and Moses Hyde sac bunt put Almeida at 2nd. Daniel Orozco to a ball to the back, two on, one out. Next Raider batter Anthony Deluca RBI single scored Almeida. 2-2, still 2 on, one out. Ryan Stewart followed with ball to the shoulder to load the bases. Next batter Jadyn Myatt's SAC fly scored Orozco. 3-2 Raiders

After that, the young Raider pitching staff gave up 6 runs in the 6th and 7th and the Raiders bats went silent the rest of the way

Raiders ended the season 10-14 in WSC North 14-25 overall
