Delaney Diaz has been named new Head Softball Coach
We are thrilled to announce and welcome Delaney Diaz as our new Head Softball Coach. Delaney is no stranger to the Raiders program as she was an assistant coach last year and played a pivotal role in leading the Raiders to an undefeated 2024 WSC North Conference Championship record season. Among her contributions was leading the team in achieving an impressive 3.31 GPA last year.
A recent graduate of UC Davis (2023), Delaney earned a degree in Psychology and also studied Cognitive Science, along with a minor in Human Development. She was recognized as a scholar athlete in the 2021-2022 season. During her five years on the Division I softball team, she was a standout power hitter and a leader in the outfield, earning Big West Player of the Week and honorable mention honors in 2023. Her extensive playing experience brings a wealth of knowledge about the game that will greatly benefit our student-athletes.
Delaney was born and raised in Camarillo, where she attended Adolfo Camarillo High School and significantly contributed to their CIF Championship in 2017. "I want to give back to the community that shaped me into the person that I've become and I thank God for giving me the ability to mentor these young women toward success both on and off the field. I feel honored and privileged to guide our student athletes in reaching their full potential while pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse alongside my coaching responsibilities.
I look forward to this journey and to seeing softball from a different lens."
Please join us in welcoming Delaney Diaz to the Moorpark College family!
