Women's Volleyball and Men's Soccer Kicks off the 2024-25 Sports Season
The 2024-25 Sports season kicked off last week with Women's Volleyball hosting Irvine Valley and Men's Soccer traveling to Pasadena City College in their season openers.
Football also hosted Santa Monica College in their pre-season scrimmage match-up with the Raiders looking more improved in the running game.
Women's Golf opened their season at the Chuck Melendez Invitational which also served as the WSC opening tournament. The Raiders finished in 3rd among 9 schools but was 1st among WSC schools with a score of 339. Lisette Orellana was low medalist for the Raiders with a 78. Kalia Aparicio was second with a 81
The Women's Volleyball looked like a force to be reckoned with defeating Irvine Valley 3-1. 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, and 25-13. The Raiders dusted off opening day jitters and settled into thier pattern.
Men's Soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Pasadena 3-2. Pasadean opened the scoring in the 24th minute but in the 28th minute John Pacheco's shot, assist by Diego Estrada, got by the PCC Keeper, 1-1. Pasadena added another to take a 2-1 halftime lead. The Raiders evened the score in the 63rd minute on Rudy Maravila's strike, assisted by Marcos Hernandez, 2-2. Both teams battled for the next 20 minutes until Pasadena scored in the 86th minute.
