Men's Cross Country: The Moorpark College men's cross country team won the Western State Conference for a second straight year over. Bryce Gardhouse (20:15.72) was crowned an individual champion followed by three others that placed in the top 10, Matthew Russell (20:42.23), Johnny Slone (20:48.33) and Marcus Fehlman (21:05.58).

Women's Soccer: The Moorpark College women's soccer team defeated Oxnard 3-1 thanks to goals from Alana Nickerson, Sophia Frias and Zoey Kuhn. Goalkeeper Natalie Romero recorded two saves in the team's fourth conference win.

TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Raiders thump LA Pierce

The Moorpark College football team beat Los Angeles Pierce 74-0 at home Saturday night.

The win gives the Raiders (4-3) its second straight victory and keeps them unbeaten in the American-Pacific Conference at 2-0.

Moorpark jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter before an eventual 51-0 lead at halftime.

The lopsided result allowed for more plays to play Saturday night. Three quarterbacks played, nine players registered a carry and nine players registered a catch.

Three kickers registered an extra point and 22 players registered a tackle on defense.
