Women's volleyball tops Mira Costa to advance to CCCAA 2nd round

The excitement of Thanksgiving didn't distract the Moorpark College women's volleyball team Tuesday night when it took down MiraCosta College in five sets (19-25, 25-16, 18-25, 27-25, 15-11) in the first round of the CCCAA SoCal Regional playoffs.
The win required a comeback effort after being down two sets to one.
Janesa Valoaga led the way with 23 kills and 19 digs. Halle Perkins added 12 and 16 digs. Madison Fuller dished out 46 assists while tallying 15 digs. Eleanna Laba had a team-high 27 digs in the match.

The sixth-seeded Raiders (18-6) will face No. 3-seeded San Diego Mesa - winners over No. 14-seeded Long Beach - on the road Monday at 5 p.m. in the CCCAA SoCal Regional second round. Winner will advance to the CCCAA State tournament.
