WSC North Champion Softball season ends at El Camino in first round of 3C2A So Cal Regionals

TOORANCE, CA - The WSC North Champion Softball team had their season come to an end at El Camino. The Raiders were seeded #12 going into the best of 3 series against the #5 Warriors but it was El Camino who took the series 2-0, 3-0 and 10-1. 

In the opening game was looking to be a pitching duel beteween the Raider's Amanda Smith and El Camino's Madelyn Radeke as both teams were held scoreless through 4 innings. The Raiders had stranded 3 baserunners and couldn't string enough hits together to threaten the Warriors. In the bottom half of the 5th, with two outs and two on, the Raiders committed 2 errors aloowing 2 runs to come across and that's all the El Camino needed. The Raiders left runners stranded in the 6th and 7th while the Warriors added an insurance run. Leah Cowans was the only Raiders with multiple hits. She went 2 for 3. Isabella Velasquez had a double. Smith ended the day with 4Ks and and issued 2 walks.

On the second day and with the Raiders needing to win two games to advance, game two started like game 1 as a pitching duel. It was El Camino who scored first in the top of the 3rd. In the bottom of the 4th, the Raiders were able to push a run across to tie the game. Velasquez singled to left and was followed by Kylie Kolkowski's RBI double. 1-1 going to the 5th. The Warriors were able to get a run in their half of the 5th to retake the lead, 2-1. In the top half of the 6th, the wheels fell off for the Raiders. A double down the left field line, a single a walk and a hit batter combined with 3 errors led to 8 runs for the Warriors. The Raiders ended with 2 singles. Kolkowski went 2 for 2 on the day and Maloory Ahklaghi went 2 for 3 on the day.

The Raiders finish the season 28-10 overall and undefeated at 14-0 in conference.
